Methodology – TLC Portuguese School

The Language Club Portuguese School adopts a communicative approach to the teaching of Portuguese as a foreign language. The courses are very interactive and grammar and vocabulary are learned in context. Class dynamics make use of simulation activities encouraging students’ language practice. Practice classes, such as visits to supermarkets, banks and trekking in the neighborhood are also adopted. In general, the courses cover the four language skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing. Aspects of Brazilian culture are also included in the course syllabus.

The Language Club usually customizes its course programs to the specific needs and characteristics of students and groups.  We believe it has a strong positive effect on students’ motivation and on the language acquisition process.

In the last 15 years, The Language Club has been teaching Portuguese to English, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, German, Swedish, Danish, French speaking people and many other nationalities in elementary, intermediate and advanced levels. Courses may be in groups (click here to know the starting dates), or private (one teacher, one student), that can start at any convenient time for the student.
